Cremona, November 6, 2024 – The 10th Edition of MyMentor, Università Cattolica’s mentorship program designed to bridge academia and the professional world, has officially launched at the Cremona Campus. Over the years, MyMentor has grown thanks to the enthusiasm and commitment of its promoters and cofounders Fabrizio Capocasale, Giuseppe Ghittoni, Max Maria Traversone, and Giulio Drei, who have transformed an idea into a solid, impactful initiative that fosters the growth of young talent.
In this edition, the Cremona Campus has formed 27 mentor-mentee pairs with students from the master’s programs in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Agricultural and Food Economics, and Food Processing: Innovation and Tradition. Combined with the 88 pairs created at the Piacenza Campus, this brings the total to 115 mentor-mentee pairs.
Vision for the Future
The evening opened with greetings from Prof. Pier Sandro Cocconcelli, Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural, Food, and Environmental Sciences, who welcomed guests in the Aula Magna of the Santa Monica Campus. Cocconcelli emphasized the three pillars of university education: knowledge, skills, and experience. “Student experience is achieved by connecting students with the real world,” he noted, recognizing MyMentor as “the best way to rapidly transfer experience to younger generations.”
Prof. Marco Allena, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Law, described MyMentor as an “excellence of Università Cattolica” and highlighted the importance of investing in projects that take on new challenges and create increasingly innovative pathways for students and their families. Allena extended his thanks to the Stage and Placement Office, the MyMentor Scientific Committee, and the mentors and mentees.
Dr. Matteo Burgazzoli, Deputy Director of the Cremona Campus, underscored the program’s mutual benefits for companies and students alike, thanking the mentors, promoters, and the Scientific Committee. Prof. Daniela Bassi and Prof. Claudio Soregaroli reiterated the value of MyMentor for Santa Monica students, emphasizing the concepts of internationalization, service, and the transmission of values. They highlighted MyMentor’s unique opportunity for international students, contributing to their professional growth within an intercultural exchange setting that upholds academic and human values.
