10th Edition Successfully Launched at the Piacenza Campus

A unique mentorship program bridging academia and the professional world, MyMentor has launched its 10th edition with a special ceremony at the Piacenza Campus, to be followed by a second event on November 6th at the Cremona Campus. Founders and representatives of the Università Cattolica participated, underscoring the importance of this mentorship initiative in connecting academic training with professional experience and fostering young talent.

Institutional Greetings and Vision for the Future

The event began with remarks from Dean Prof. Marco Trevisan, who, in his final participation as Dean, fondly recalled the last seven years of MyMentor. Trevisan praised the mentors and staff, recognizing their essential role in the program’s success and growth. Prof. Paolo Mondini followed on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Law, offering a warm thank-you to all participants and highlighting the program's educational value.

A Jewel in the Crown for the Piacenza Campus

Dr. Angelo Manfredini, Director of the Piacenza and Cremona campuses, expressed, “This experience is truly a jewel in the crown of the Piacenza campus.” During his speech, Manfredini shared the Rector’s praise for MyMentor as a virtuous example of university mentorship and took the opportunity to thank everyone who made MyMentor possible.

Launch of UC CareER Hub: MyMentor 2030 and New Mentorship Paths for Agrisystem PhD Students

Prof. Franca Cantoni introduced UC CareER Hub: MyMentor 2030, an important new phase of the mentorship project, supported by the Emilia-Romagna Region. The program aims to ensure sustainable, inclusive development by extending mentorship access to PhD students. This year, new mentorship paths were established for Agrisystem PhD students, offering additional growth and support for future researchers and professionals in the agrifood sector.

Success Stories: Experiences of Personal and Professional Growth

Two mentees from the 2023/2024 edition, Camilla Capogreco and Luca Nobile, shared their experiences, highlighting the significant impact their mentors’ support has had on their personal and professional growth. Their testimonials underscore MyMentor’s continued success as a model of excellence in academic mentorship.

Reflections on Ten Years of MyMentor

Cofounders Fabrizio Capocasale, Giuseppe Ghittoni, Max Maria Traversone, and Giulio Drei shared reflections on the program’s ten-year journey. Traversone presented figures illustrating the project’s continuous growth, while Drei explained the value of the MyMentorCattolica.it platform in enhancing mentor-mentee relationships. Ghittoni highlighted the importance of “Bridging the Gap” between academia and the professional world, guiding mentees toward professional success.

Capocasale, Program Manager and event moderator, closed the ceremony with the highly anticipated matching of mentors and mentees: this year, 100 mentees will be paired with 100 mentors, across the Piacenza and Cremona campuses. At the Piacenza event, over 200 people were present, demonstrating the strong commitment and enthusiasm surrounding this initiative.
